A few hours ago, newsit.gr reported that the song which will represent Greece in this year’s Eurovision is almost ready!

Dionysis Tsaknis, the chairman of ERT, gave an interview to newsit.gr regarding this year’s Greek entry. As it is already known, ERT has decided to go internal to avoid extra costs. Mr Tsaknis is himself handling the preparations of the Greek entry and shared some details about the song. According to him, the song will have strong ethnic elements but he mentioned that there won’t be any clarinet-sound in the composition.

Instead, the sound of the song will be Balkan and happy. It won’t be a miserable song but it will have a strong Greek music identity. As he said, their aim is not to go into competition with outlandish listening song but with their own style and “identity”. Dionysis Tsaknis said a few things regarding the lyrics of the song and he stated that it will show Europe an optimistic image of Greece, but with references to the refugee movement and the economic crisis. At this point, he emphasized again that it will not be a “sad” song, but a very cheerful and optimistic one with rousing sound. However, it is still unknown who will perform the song. Mr Tsaknis said that the artists aren’t well-known but they are very talented musicians.

It is rumored that the band Sleeping Pillow might be the one that will represent or Greece or that it is just involved in the song production.
