The legal actions that internal contestant Melissa Mantzoukis has started against the Greek national broadcaster, ERT, will commence next week.
What is going to happen?
On Greek TV the lawyer of Melissa Mantzoukis stated that a court hearing will take place next week. Melissa was one of the last three possible 2023 representants of Greece when the internal selection took place. ERT, the national broadcaster of Greece, announced Victor Vernicos as victorious, and he will represent Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Shortly after this announcement the legal team of Melissa Mantzoukis filed for legal actions. The reason for the court hearing next week will be to freeze the proceedings of Greece for the contest of 2023, and the other reason is to claim the victory of Melissa Mantzoukis, but also a claim for damages, such as: Moral damages, because of the wrong outcome of the internal Greek selection.
ERT did not comment on the matter since the first public announcement of this situation.
