France: Full line-up for Destination Eurovision revealed, listen to snippets

France 2 has revealed the name of the eighteen candidates that will compete in Destination Eurovision 2018. The French national selection will kick off on Saturday with the first semi-final being broadcast prerecorded.

From 1500 applications received, the national and international panels have selected the following contenders to compete in the shows.

  • Louka – Mamma Mia
  • Igit – Lisboa Jérusalem
  • Emmy Liyana – OK ou KO
  • Madame Monsieur – Mercy
  • Sweem – Là-haut
  • Noée – L’un près de l’autre
  • PhénoMen – Jamais sans toi
  • Lucie – My World
  • Enéa – I’ll be there
  • Sarah Caillibot – Tu me manques
  • Masoe – Paradis
  • Max Cinnamon – Ailleurs
  • Nassi – Rêve de Gamin
  • Jane Constance – Un jour j’ai rêvé
  • Ehla – J’ai Cru
  • Lisandro Cuxi – Eva

The shows

Three shows are set to be aired to select the French entrant in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, two pre-recorded semi-finals and a live grand final. Nine acts will compete in each semi-final, while eight candidates will take part in the national final.

The semi-final qualifiers will be determined via a 100% jury vote comprised by the international and national panels. The overall winner will be selected by a 50/50 combination of votes from ten international judges and audience vote.

The Jury

The national jury panel for the shows will be made up of 2016 representative Amir,  French singer Cristophe Willem and Canadian performer Isabelle Boulay. Christer Björkman (Swedish HoD) Nicola Caligliore (Italian HoD) and Olga Salamakha (Belarusian HoD) will be the international judges.

Tomorrow, the recording of both semi-finals will start in Saint Denis and will continue on Tuesday. All interested fans that would like to attend the shows have to register here.
