France 2023: Entry reveal on February 19th

We know by now that singer La Zarra will represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. This week news came out that the song of La Zarra will be presented on February 19th 2023.

The 2023 entry of France

The 2023 entry of France will be made public on February 19th 2023, although we already know since early January that La Zarra will be the representative of France in this year’s contest. It is the first time since 2020 that France chose its representative internally.

Information about the entry

The team that worked on La Zarra’s French-language smash hit “Tu t’en iras” (trans. “You will leave”) will also work on her upcoming Eurovision entry. For now the entry is described as “an interesting mix of genres”.

About La Zarra

La Zarra is the stage name of Fatima Zahra Hafdi, who was born to a Moroccan family in Montréal (Canada). La Zarra first became famous in 2016 when she sang in a song together with rapper Niro, the name of the song was “Printemps blanc”. In 2021 she released her first solo single “Tu t’en iras”; in that same year she was nominated for the NRJ Award for “Francophone Revelation of the Year”.

Eurovision 2022

In the Eurovision Song Contest of 2022 France was represented by Alvan & Ahez. Since France is one of the Big Five countries, so this country does not have to compete in the Semi-finals. In the Grand Final of 2022 France ended in 24th place (of 25).
