EBU’s Executive Supervisor of live events has talked with ESCDaily about the brand new online voting system that will decide half of the outcome of this year’s Junior Eurovision. Will it be an option in the adult Eurovision Song Contest?
To a question asked by the interviewer, Jon Ola Sand answered: “For the time being, we are very happy with the voting setup of Eurovision, it’s 100% secure, it’s a good voting setup and we created a lot of engagement around that, but things develop and technology develops and the digital world, in five years… who knows? So, it’s good to do a test out here to see if that’s something that we could start looking into and to see if we can develop the voting experience in the Eurovision Song Contest as well.”
