Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest

The last time Turkey performed in the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2012 in Azerbaijan when singer Can Bonomo performed the song “Love Me Back”, ending 5th (of 18) in Semi-final 2, and eventually he came in 7th (of 26).

Due to multiple reasons, Turkey does not compete in the contest anymore, one of them being that the Big Five countries do not have to compete in the Semi-finals because they finance a great deal of every year’s contest.
