Eurovision 2023: The Netherlands has started the search for their next representative

The Netherlands has begun the search for their 2023 Eurovision Song Contest representative, after their 2022 representative S10 finished 11th in the Grand Final in Turin, Italy.

The submissions window is open

On the 16th of May 2022 Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS has opened the song submissions window for new possible entrants and songs. For 2023 the entrant will be decided by a committee (thus not by a national selection); this method is being used in the Netherlands since 2014.

About the 2023 songs

About the songs that can be submitted AVROTROS has stated the following:

“We are looking an entry with preferably a contemporary, but in any case authentic sound. A song that is able to survive in a competition. By a Dutch artist who can and wants to present a personal song in a distinctive way, in any genre, and if possible a personal story.”
