One day you are waiting for the next Eurovision season to begin, and before you know it is the second day of rehearsals already, time flies in the land of Eurovision. Today we could follow the first rehearsals of ten countries by pictures and video snippets, which you can find below. These countries were: Israel, Azerbaijan, Czechia, Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Armenia, Romania, Belgium, and Cyprus.
I have to be honest and say that I was most surprised by the imagery and snippets I have seen from the rehearsals of Israel, Netherlands, and Finland. Since Israel’s Noa Kirel did not attend any of the preview parties, except for the one in Israel, we still had to see what her act is going to look like, but man-oh-man did she deliver; everything is there: props, lights, and her dance break. Amazing! The Netherlands, because I am Dutch myself, and I have to say that I am really ashamed of how the Dutch have treated Dion and Mia in the media and on social media; they were bashed and bullied for their singing, appearance, pasts, and much more; for them to be in Liverpool, I have a lot of respect, and they show that previous performances do not have to matter when the act on the grand Eurovision stage is up to par. Finland’s Käärijää has brought a great new version of his act to Liverpool, and boy, does it look great or what?! Makes us wanna go “Cha Cha Cha”.
Tomorrow is a new day full of rehearsals during which eleven countries will take the stage for their first rehearsal, excited to see what the day will bring. Looking at the staging of all acts, and what the stage of the contest in Liverpool can do, I believe that we are in for an amazing ride this year!
Eurovision 2023
The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place on May 9th, 11th, and 13th 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. 37 countries will compete for the crown. This year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be a joint venture, since last year’s winner Ukraine cannot organize the contest on home soil because of the ongoing war with Russia.
