Elena Tsagrinou will represent Cyprus in the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “El Diablo!” She was internally selected by Cypriot broadcaster RIK.
Andreas Frangos, Chairman of RIK, confirmed yesterday that Cyprus’ 2021 Eurovision representative was to be revealed today at approximately 9:00 CET on the morning show Όμορφη μέρα κάθε μέρα (Every Day is a Beautiful Day) on RIK1.
Elena (who is signed to PANIK Records) will be performing a song about falling in love with someone as bad as “El Diablo”. The song was created by the worldwide distinguished composers and producers Thomas Stengaard, Laurell Barker, Jimmy Joker and Oxa. The staging has been assigned to artistic director Marvin Dietmann.’
Elena Tsagrinou is one of the most talented and glamorous singers in the Greek pop scene. She was born in Athens in 1994 and by the time she was 14-years-old she had already taken part in the talent show Greece Got Talent where she made it all the way to the semi-final. In 2013 she joined the band OtherView but after five successful years with the band, Elena embarked on her solo career. She released her debut single with the symbolic title Pame Ap’ Tin Arxi, meaning ‘Let’s go from the start’ which was written by Dimitris Kontopoulos and Nikos Moraitis.
