On February 25, 2017 Herning’s Jyske Bank Boxen will host the Danish national selection Dansk Melodi Grand Prix through which the Denmark’s representative for Eurovision 2017 will be determined. This city previously hosted the contest back in 2009 and 2013.
After winning the 2013 national final in Herning, Emmelie de Forest became the winner of Eurovision 2013 in Malmö, Sweden, bringing the following edition of the Eurovision Song Contest to her country. In this sense, the Danish broadcaster DR looks forward to working with Herning another time, hoping to find a winner who will follow Emmelie’s footsteps.
“Eurovision is a big celebration for the Danish inhabitants and, therefore, we will call the month of February the Grand Prix Month facing a huge celebration with Eurovision activities throughout the whole month”, says Lars Krarup, mayor of Herning.
The tickets for the show will go on sale on September 30th at 12.00 CET through the official website of the broadcaster.
