Czech Republic: It’s no lie – Mikolas wins jury vote

As we reported yesterday, Česká Televize assembled a stellar international jury* of Eurovision veterans from the recent and more distant past to help decide this year’s Czech entry. And now we know how they voted…

It’s been announced that Mikolas, with his energetic entry and future floor-filler ‘Lie To Me’, has emerged victorious from the jury vote. He secured 68 points – the jury scores of the other five contestants will be revealed next Monday when the result of the public vote will also be unveiled. The jury votes will account for 50% of the final scores, and the public vote for the other 50%.

So the current state of play is as follows:

  • Debbi – High On Love
  • Doctor Victor – Stand Up
  • Eddie Stoilow – We Rule This World
  • Eva Burešová – Fly
  • Mikolas Josef – Lie To Me – 68 POINTS
  • Pavel Callta – Never Forget

But it’s still anyone’s game! Not until 29th January will we finally know exactly who will attempt to deliver the Czech Republic’s second-ever appearance in the ESC Grand Final – and make a massive impact in that Final on 12th May in Lisbon.

Czech back soon!
