This sequence has been determined with the aim of making each and every one of the festival’s proposals shine as brightly as possible, as well as ensuring the technical and artistic benefit of the show. In this way, we have tried not to make several songs of the same genre or theme coincide in contiguous positions, or to place the candidates with the most demanding stage proposals in performance positions that facilitate the assembly of the props.

Among the highlights of the publication of the performance order is Spain’s starting place. Carlos Higes will try to make the whole of Europe fall in love with his dance-pop song Señorita in 11th place. The Valencian hopes that this position will bring him luck in the arduous task of taking home the crystal microphone. Other relevant aspects are the opening and closing countries and the position where hosts Armenia will try to retain their title of Junior Eurovision winner , this time playing at home.

In a thrilling draw at this evening’ s opening ceremony, chance has decided that the Netherlands will be the icebreaker to kick off the gala and Ukraine will be the closing country. An innocent hand has also designated Armenia‘s place , who will go all out in position 15, the penultimate position. The next step after today’s unforgettable launch of the contest from Yerevan will be the start of the participants’ rehearsals tomorrow at the Karen Demirchyan Complex.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will be held in Yerevan, Armenia, on Sunday 11 December. The Karen Demirchyan Complex will host the show in which artists between the ages of 9 and 14 from different European countries will fight to win the coveted crystal microphone, the trophy that certifies victory in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The organisation of the show by Armenian public broadcaster ARMTV follows the victory of Malena and her “Qami Qami” on stage in Paris on 19 December, which sparked a collective euphoria in her homeland and made the whole country take on the challenge of organising the festival with great enthusiasm and responsibility, which promises to be more special than ever as it celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2022. It will not be the first time that Armenia has hosted a Junior Eurovision, having had the opportunity to do so in 2011, also at the Karen Demirchyan Complex.

A total of 16 countries will finally take to the festival stage to bring a magical evening full of music, dance and fun to the whole of Europe, highlighting the accession of the United Kingdom as a stellar return and regretting the withdrawals of Bulgaria, Germany, Azerbaijan and Russia. Precisely, full of magic will also be the corporate identity and the motto of the edition, Spin The Magic. In this way, ARMTV invites us to travel to a fantasy universe where all the countries become innocent spinning tops, leaving light and hope in their wake. It is also a nod to the 20th anniversary of Junior Eurovision, which has been spinning and promoting European children’s talent year after year for 20 editions.
