Azerbaijan starts its way to Eurovision 2021

Today the Azerbaijani public television, Ictimai TV, has revealed that the submission period to send songs for Eurovision 2021 has begun. The winning entry will be performed by Samira Efendi, who has again been chosen for Azerbaijan.

The application period will be open until January 19th. Composers can send their works to [email protected], the email address of Azerbaijan’s Eurovision delegation.

Azerbaijan’s public television has made the announcement on Twitter, but they haven’t revealed so much more details. So, we don’t know if the submissions are opened to Azerbaijani composers or international songwriters.

Samira Efendi was selected by the Azerbaijani public television, Ictimai TV, to represent her country in Eurovision 2020 with the song ‘Cleopatra’. The entry became one of the most popular songs of the edition and one of the favourites to win. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see her on the Rotterdam Ahoy’s stage because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
