Azerbaijan: Nadir Rustamli will sing “Fade to Black” in Turin

The word is out, Nadir Rustamli will sing “Fade to Black” in Turin (Italy) during the Eurovision Song Contest 2022! The Azeri artist will bring a power ballad to the contest in hopes of being victorious in the second Semi-final on May 12th 2022.

Azerbaijan was the last country to release their entry, and now that they did, all entrants of the 2022 contest are known.

About Nadir Rustamli

22-year old Nadir Rustamli is an Azeri singer, he won the second season of the popular TV show “The Voice of Azerbaijan”. When Nadir was younger he learned how to play the piano, and ever so often he combines his singing with playing the piano. In 2021 Nadir graduated from the Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management, and obtained a degree in business administration.

On February 16th 2022 Nadir found out on live television that he was selected to represent Azerbaijan during this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy.

During the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 Azerbaijan was represented by Efendi and her song “Mata Hari”, about the legendary Dutch spy with the same name. Efendi ended 8th (out of 16) in Semi-final 1 and eventually took the 21st place (out of 26) in the Grand Final.

Eurovision Song Contest 2022

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 10th (Semi-final 1), 12th (Semi-final 2), and on the 14th (Grand Final) in Turin, Italy. Azerbaijan will compete in the first half of the second Semi-final on May 12th 2022.
