Australia rules out Junior Eurovision 2020 participation

Speaking to TV Tonight, SBS has revealed they won’t be participating at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Australia has been taking part in the contest ever since its debut in 2015.

“Due to the current travel restrictions and the ongoing uncertainty around this situation, Australia will not be competing in the Junior Eurovision Contest 2020,”, said SBS spokesperson to TV Tonight.

Australia made its debut in 2015 and has achieved very good results mainly because of the jury voting. 3rd has been their best place until the date, which they reached in both 2017 and 2018.

Although they won’t be joining the competition this year, Australia intends to participate in the upcoming editions, so, if the current situation gets better, we’ll be seeing them again in the near future.

13 countries have revealed their wish to take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Germany will make its debut in Warsaw.
