Alma selected for France, listen to the song!

France’s successful 6th place last year with Amir and “J’ai cherché” made France 2 and France 4 work together again and this year they give us Alma!

The 28-year-old artist will represent her country in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Requiem” written by Nazim Khaled who has also worked with Amir. Nazim has wrote many songs on Alma’s debut album which will be released on 5th of May. Nazim and Alma met each other when she decided to pursue her career in music and moved to Paris. Apart from singing, Alma plays the piano and writes songs. Her real name is Alexandra Maquet.

“I’m deeply honoured to have been selected to represent my country, France, at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. I strongly hope to count on the public’s love and support to deliver the best performance possible”.

France competes in the final on Saturday 13th of May but Alma will also perform her song in the second semi-final on Thursday 11th of May.

About Ifigeneia Filippidou (Greece/Sweden)

Ifigeneia Filippidou (Greece/Sweden)

I’m Ifi from Greece (living in Sweden since September 2010). I became a huge Eurovision fan in 2002 when I accidentally watched it on tv. I also love Melodifestivalen! I’m following the live shows since 2008 and since I moved to Sweden I’ve attended every final. I try to follow as many national finals as possible every year. And I’m also the biggest Alcazar fan!
See you around! :)
