Alinur Khamzin and Beknur Zhanibekuly will sing “Ertegi Älem” for Kazakhstan at Junior Eurovision 2021!

Just a few moments ago, the Kazakh national final for Junior Eurovision 2021 has taken place in Nur-Sultan with a total of 10 participants competing with the aim of being chosen to represent Kazakhstan in the world’s largest musical event for children.

There was a tie for first place between two contestants and the jury decided that both of them should travel to La Seine Musicale for Junior Eurovision 2021. So Alinur Khamzin and Beknur Zhanibekuly has won the ticket to fly the Kazakhstani flag in Paris and together will sing Alinur’s song “Ertegi Älem.

These were the 10 finalists who have competed at today’s national final and their songs:

  1. Alimzhan Tugelbai – Senem Elä
  2. Zhan Makim – Bile
  3. Ekaterina Tabarina – Fotomodel
  4. Beknur Zhanibekuly – Human
  5. Adina Sulenova – Äkeshim
  6. Armen Sahakyan – Bala Makhabbat
  7. Ayganym Amantay – Armanym
  8. Amina Asgatova – Qimylda
  9. Alinur Khamzin – Ertegi Älemi
  10. Abilgayyr Zhumabay – Indigo Bala

The winners were determined by a combination of 50% jury votes and the other 50% provided by the public, who cast their votes through calls and SMS.

record number of 819 submissions were received this year, turning it a very hard decision for the expert panel to choose the 30 best ones in the first round of the preselection. Then, an online voting was opened where the public selected the 10 finalist who have participated today in the final round broadcast today.

Kazakhstan at Junior Eurovision

This will be the fourth time for Kazakhstan at Junior Eurovision since their debut in 2018. In the last two years the country reached the second place thanks to Yerzhan Maxim in 2019 and Karakat Bashanova in 2020.
