Albania: Running order for Festivali i Këngës decided

There have been a couple of Festivali i Këngës news items in the past couple of days.  On December 3rd RTSH informed us that Vikena Kamenica and the song “Natën e mirë” would not take part as planned.  The artist has withdrawn from the participation due to some unexpected professional commitments, which have become an obstacle to fulfilling the Festival’s regulations.  According to the Festival’s rules based on the ratings of the Selection Committee, it will be replaced by “Dua ta besoj” performed by Artemisa Mithi & Febi Shkurti.

Today the running order was decided by a random drawing ahead of the first show on December 20th:

In the first show on December 20th, all songs will be performed with the traditional FiK orchestra. On December 21st, we will get to hear the songs again but this time with a Eurovision style arrangement.  The contestants will also make use of staging concepts during that show.  A winner will then be decided on December 22. This year’s contest is the first time contestants must think of the ultimate Eurovision presentation during their FiK performance.

Fans may recognize Orgesa Zaimi’s name.  She participated in last year’s contest and became a fan favorite.
