Belarus will let one out of tonight’s 10 acts fly at Eurovision 2018! Who will succeed NAVI BAND?
Eurovision fans, get ready for the party because tonight another nation is choosing the act who will represent the country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Portugal. Belteleradiocompany (BTRC) will hold its yearly national final live from the studio 600 meters in Minsk.
10 acts will perform onstage during the show:
- Adagio –Â You and I
- Alekseev –Â Forever
- Shuma –Â Hmarki
- Napoli –Â Chasing Rushes
- Anastasia Malashkevich – World on Fire
- Gunesh –Â I Will Not Cry
- Radio wave –Â Subway Lines
- Alen Hit –Â I do Not Care
- Lexy Weaver – Ain’t You
- Cyril Hood –Â Deja Vu
A few weeks ago, BTRC held auditions after collecting a bunch of 93 tracks where a panel decided to shortlist by deciding the ones who would be making it through to the show. Some controversy emerged after contestants signed a letter against Aleeksev’s participation as they considered his song did not meet EBU rules towards Eurovision and alleging irregularities after the auditions took place and how he was chosen to take part, thus Sofi Lapina decided to withdraw from the competition. Anyway, hot fan-favourite seem to be Aleeksev’s “Forever”.
The winner of tonight’s show will be determined by the equal combination (50/50) of the votes from the audience with their SMS’ and the votes from an expert panel.
The show will be again introduced to the audience by Belarusian TV personalities Olga Ryzhikova and former ESC representative in 2014 Teo. You can follow and watch Eurofest 2018 either on our multi-window platform from 20:15 CET onwards.
As BTRC reports, special guests will also perform at the show including NaviBand, as well as the brightest artists of the current and last year’s national selections: Violetta Baginskaya, Angelina Pipper, Ivan Zdonyuk, Angelica Pushnova, Elizaveta Muravieva, July, Michael Soul, trio Beatrice.
