Last October, 16 Maltese finalists were chosen by a professional panel made up of music and TV professionals in the island to compete for the ticket to Lisbon. Today PBS has revealed the competing songs through official lyric videos available to watch online.
Next February 3, the Maltese national final “MESC 2018” will be held in Ta ‘Qali. After some months knowing the titles and the artists taking part in this competition, the Maltese broadcaster PBS has published all the songs that will compete to represent Malta at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest:

- Brooke Borg – Heart Of Gold
- Christabelle Borg – Taboo
- Danica Muscat – One Step At A Time
- Deborah C – Turn It Up
- Dwett – Breaking Point
- Eleanor Cassar – Back to Life
- Jasmine Abela – Supernovas
- Lawrence Gray – Love Renegade
- Matthew Anthony – Call 2morrow
- Miriana Conte – Rocket
- Rhiannon Micallef – Beyond Blue Horizons
- Richard & Joe Micallef – Song For Dad
- Tiziana Calleja – First Time
- Petra – Evolution
Following last year’s procedure, MESC 2018 will only consist of one show. This rule allows PBS to get rid of having a second preliminary show, or semi-final, as they had previous years. The winner will be decided by a 50/50 combination of televoting and professional jury.
