Moldova: Constantin Cobîlean’s Mama disqualified from “O Melodie Pentru Europa”

After TRM went on announcing the finalists for this year’s Moldovan national selection for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest, there’s one act which seems to have been pointed as invalid. This is so as the song who Constantin Cobîlean presents to the selection was performed and released prior to the 1st of September 2016.

In consequence, TRM has replaced him and include Nadia Moșneagu with her entry “Never Give Up On Us” to the final line-up of the Moldovan music contest. You may remember her from last year’s national selection. Her track “Memories” finished 13th on the scoreboard at the national final.

So, the artists which will eventually perform at “O Melodie Pentru Europa” are:

As some media report, no decision has been made regarding another controversy, which concerns the claims of plagiarism surrounding Irina Kit’s song “Baby Don’t Cry”.

Take a look at the dates for this year’s competition:

  • 24th of February – Semifinal
  • 25th of February – Final (8 acts advancing from the semi-final stage)

The winner will be selected from the combination of the votes from the televote and the expert panel evaluating the entries. Also the qualifiers from the semi-final.
