Today, RAI has officially confirmed participation at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 to be held in Valletta, the capital city of Malta.

Italy joined the junior contest two years ago, in 2014, when the talented Italian singer Vincenzo Cantiello won the competition with the song Tu primo grande amore.
A total of 8 countries have confirmed participation for the 14th edition of Junior Eurovision, until the date, in which TVM and EBU are trying to reach the record number of 18 participants. The contest will take place for the second time in Malta on November 20, 2016 at Mediterranean Conference Centre. Besides, the Maltese broadcaster is also prepared to host Eurovision Young Dancers in 2017.
