The third edition of ‘The Voice Kids Malta’ has come to an end with the victory of Beppe Caruana. Next Saturday, October 24, during Junior Eurovision 2026 in Ta’ Qali, we will be able to enjoy his voice representing Malta. Therefore, he takes on the great challenge of succeeding Eliza Borg.

He has managed to win the singing competition after overcoming the different stages of the contest and receiving the majority support of the jury, which had the outcome of the final stage in its hands as one of the three superfinalists. Beppe Caruana won as part of Gaia Cauchi’s team. His entry for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will be presented shortly.

This Saturday, September 19, from 20:45 CEST, the grand final of ‘The Voice Kids Malta’ took place, where we were able to discover the new Maltese representative at Junior Eurovision 2026.

Six finalists competed in the grand final of ‘The Voice Kids Malta’. Over the course of two weeks, they have demonstrated their talent on the stage every day until reaching the decisive stage. Three of them, Maya Galea, Zeah Aquilina and Beppe Caruana, became superfinalists. Finally, Beppe Caruana was crowned the best voice of 2026.

Who is Beppe Caruana? Meet Malta’s representative at Junior Eurovision 2026

Beppe Caruana is an 11-year-old Maltese singer. Despite his young age, he has developed a highly notable artistic career. He took part with the La Voix choir in the television competition ‘Malta’s Got Talent’ in 2022, where they received the Golden Buzzer, and he has also appeared in theatrical productions. In 2025, he was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Italian festival Zecchino d’Oro, where he performed the song “Toc Toc” alongside Sofia Bianco.

He made his debut on ‘The Voice Kids Malta’ with “Space Man”, the song with which British singer Sam Ryder achieved 2nd place at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

The 12-year-old newcomer singer performed on the second night of the Blind Auditions phase. Gaia Cauchi and Aleandro turned their chairs to secure the voice of young Maya. The young singer chose to join Aleandro’s team. In the battle phase, she performed alongside Katryce Grixti and Amber Carabott, with Maya being directly chosen by Aleandro to advance to the next phase, the Sing-Offs. In this final phase before the grand final, she competed against the remaining members of her team, becoming one of the two chosen by Aleandro as a finalist for the grand final of ‘The Voice Kids Malta’.

Zeah Aquilina | Coach: Destiny Chukunyere

The 13-year-old artist, from Birgu, is one of the finalists with the most stage experience. In fact, this is not the first time she has entered the competition. In 2025, she performed Prince’s “Purple Rain” in the Blind Auditions of the second edition of the talent show, but no coach turned their chair.

In the current edition, she auditioned again and managed to get all three coaches to turn their chairs. Zeah had to choose a team, opting for Destiny. In the battle phase, she faced Elena Spagnol and Annis Joy Buttigieg. Destiny chose her for the Sing-Offs. In this final phase, Destiny selected her as a finalist. In addition, the artist is a student at the vocal school La Voix Studios, where she stands out for her composure, musical maturity, and ability to work in a group.

How did the mechanics of the grand final of ‘The Voice Kids Malta’ work? This is how the host representative for Junior Eurovision 2026 was chosen

The format of ‘The Voice Kids Malta’ consisted of four phases: the Blind Auditions, the battles, and the live grand final. The final show featured several finalist candidates to represent Malta at Junior Eurovision 2026. The winner is chosen exclusively by the vote of a jury.

The six finalists competed in two phases. The finalists performed their audition song again. Each coach selected an artist for the superfinal, where they sang a duet with their coach. The winner and, consequently, representative of Malta at Junior Eurovision 2026, was chosen exclusively through a jury vote. In the event of a tie, the coaches would have decided the winner.

As a reminder, in the previous stages, the artists performed covers of songs, as is usually done in the usual format of the talent show. The selection process consisted of the following stages:

• The artists selected following the call for applications went through the different programs of Blind Auditions and battles, where the decision was in the hands of the coaches.
• Each coach formed their team with several singers. After a joint performance, only one was chosen to remain on their team. In addition, they were able to steal a contestant from another team who had not won their original battle.
• Before the grand final, it was time for the Sing-Off, where the remaining participants performed solo numbers. Each coach selected two members of their team to advance to the grand final.

The production company, greatt, responsible for the competition, and the PBS broadcaster reserved the right to modify the selection process during its development, making any possible changes public.

The representative of Malta at Junior Eurovision 2026 must be available until December 31, 2026. The entire process has the authorization of the parents and/or legal guardians. In addition, the composers and songwriters of the winning entry must submit a release declaration.
