Davit Lomidze will represent Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song «Sun on the Rooftops», which translates as “The Sun on the Rooftops”.
This Wednesday, September 16, the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) has presented the entry with which the young artist will defend the colors of the Caucasian country at the 24th edition of the European festival after being crowned winner of Ranina 2026, the legendary Georgian national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest last June 6.
The song could be heard for the first time on digital platforms from midnight onwards. Meanwhile, the official music video premiered on the first Georgian channel through the morning programme ‘Dghe pirvel arkhze’.

«Sun on the Rooftops», the song with which it will try to secure the fifth crystal microphone for Georgia at the European festival, has been composed by Giga Kukhianidze. In this way, the legendary Georgian songwriter returns to the children’s festival with what will be the 16th entry he has composed for the country, which also achieved a new victory with Andria Putkaradze in Madrid 2024. Let us remember that in Tbilisi 2025, he was also the songwriter of «Shine Like A Star» by Anita Abgariani.
Once again, Georgian television has internally selected the song. We will be able to enjoy it live on the stage of the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali (Malta) on Saturday, October 24, from 21:00 CEST. The 2026 Georgian entry will be the country’s 20th participation in Junior Eurovision.

Who is Davit Lomidze? Meet Georgia’s representative at Junior Eurovision 2026
Davit Lomidze (2016) is a young Georgian singer from Gori, in the Shida Kartli region. From a very young age, he showed a special inclination towards music, humming melodies even before he could speak fluently. For nearly three years, he received training in singing and dancing, took part in concerts and festivals, and developed both his vocal technique and stage presence under the guidance of his teacher Nino Chachava.
His major artistic breakthrough came in 2026, when he won the 9th edition of the Georgian children’s competition Ranina. This victory made him Georgia’s representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026. During the programme, he stood out for his vocal talent, interpretive ability, charisma, and naturalness on stage.
Davit Lomidze describes himself as a happy, kind and mischievous child. He is sociable, affectionate and very family-oriented, although he also has a sensitive and emotional personality. Among his musical influences are Georgian composers such as Gogi Tsabadze and Giya Kancheli.
In addition to music, he has a great passion for football and rugby. He particularly admires Lionel Messi, supports FC Barcelona and cheers for the Georgian national teams.
Following his victory in Ranina 2026, Davit Lomidze has begun to gain recognition in Georgia. His goal is to continue developing as an artist, although he also dreams of becoming a footballer or rugby player.
