Interesting result facts
• Smash Into Pieces, by reaching the final, became the first band to qualify for the final three times from the Melodifestivalen heats: 2023, 2024 and 2026. Groups are not included in this count, and “band” refers to constellations with multiple members where several play instruments. The bands that have reached the final twice are Östen med Resten (2002 and 2003), Barbados (2002 and 2003) and Brandsta City Släckers (2002 and 2026).
• Smash Into Pieces now joins the group of artists in Melodifestivalen who have gone directly to the final from their heat three years in a row: Ace Wilder, Dotter, Medina, David Lindgren, Molly Sandén, Sanna Nielsen and Wiktoria. There are also several artists who have qualified for the final from their heat four years in a row. Danny Saucedo is the only one to have done so five years in a row.
• Through Smash Into Pieces, the only entry in the heat not performed by a soloist advanced to the final. From each heat so far, one of the finalists has been a non-solo act: A*Teens, Brandsta City Släckers, Medina and Smash Into Pieces. This means that only one entry performed by a constellation is missing to match the 2023 final, where five of the entries were performed by constellations. That was the highest proportion of constellations since 2003.
• Smash Into Pieces reaching the final means that the entry performing in running order position 6 has gone directly to the final from all four heats held so far.
• The songwriter Dino Medanhodzic had been the most successful ahead of Melodifestivalen 2026, having qualified as many as six entries for the competition. In the fourth heat, he went directly to the final with Cimberly. This means he qualified directly for the final with four of his six entries: A*Teens, Medina, Saga Ludvigsson and Cimberly, while one went to the finalkval, Jacqline, and one, Arwin, was eliminated from the competition.
• Meira Omar advanced to the finalkval for the second time in as many years. In the 2025 finalkval, she took the second and last final spot in the qualifying round with the song Hush Hush.
