Interesting result facts
• By advancing in the competition with A*Teens, Marie Serneholt and Sara Lumholdt qualified for Melodifestivalen for the first time, after previously being eliminated in two and one solo attempts respectively. Sara Lumholdt had also competed in Linköping in 2011, finishing seventh, but this time advanced directly to the final from the same city.
• A*Teens’ place in the final with “Iconic” meant that songwriter Thomas G:son further extended his dominant record for the most entries qualifying directly for the final. This marked his 26th song to advance straight from a heat in Melodifestivalen—nine more than the songwriter in second place. He also extended his record for the highest number of songs in the final, now totaling 36.
• Songwriter Dino Medanhodzic competed with both A*Teens and Jacqline, who advanced to the final and the final qualification round respectively. Ahead of Melodifestivalen 2026, all but one of his 14 entries had reached the final.
• Songwriter Moa “Cazzi Opeia” Carlebecker also competed with A*Teens and Jacqline. Prior to 2026, all five of her Melodifestivalen entries had advanced to the final.
