The Italian public broadcaster, RAI, has officially presented its representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Young singer Leonardo Giovannangeli will be in charge of carrying the Italian flag to Tbilisi, where the 23rd edition of the contest will be held on December 13. At just 11 years old, Leonardo arrives with his song “Rockstar,” an energetic and youthful proposal that aims to showcase his personality and talent on stage.
In the previous edition, held in Madrid, Italy was represented at the Caja Mágica by Simone Grande. Now, Leonardo takes over and will be the one to step onto the stage to defend the colors of the tricolore in Georgia.
A young Roman talent
Leonardo Giovannangeli was born in Rome on January 23, 2014, and from a very young age showed a strong connection with music. At six years old, he was already imitating his great idol, Michael Jackson, and at eight he began studying modern singing and piano. Raised in a working-class neighborhood of the capital, he soon stood out in national singing competitions, always reaching the top spots and twice becoming runner-up at Sanremo Junior.
His big breakthrough came in 2024 with his participation in The Voice Kids Italia, where he reached the final and won over the audience thanks to his expressiveness, powerful voice, and magnetic personality. That same year, he made his recording debut with the single “Reggaeton Coreano”, a track produced by GNERECORDS and Universal Music Italia, inspired by K-pop, with modern production and an energy-filled choreography. This song established him as a well-rounded and versatile artist, capable of connecting with a young audience.
Beyond music, Leonardo is a child full of curiosity. He enjoys dance, acting, and wrestling, and surprises with his extensive knowledge of dinosaurs, one of his greatest passions. This mix of curiosity, creativity, and energy is what makes him a multifaceted artist and a candidate with great potential to shine at this year’s Eurovision event.

Now, with “Rockstar”, Leonardo is preparing to face one of the biggest challenges of his career. RAI has revealed that the entry will be a fresh and energetic track, ideal for showcasing his talent as a performer and showman. On the Tbilisi stage, a vibrant performance is expected, where the young Roman will combine singing and dancing, true to the style that has made him one of the most exciting emerging voices of his generation. The broadcaster has not yet provided any details about when we will be able to listen to the Italian entry for Junior Eurovision.
