‘Freeze’ will be the Dutch entry in the upcoming junior European contest, which will be held at the Olympic Palace in Tbilisi (Georgia) on Saturday, December 13

Destination Tbilisi! Meadow, with her song “Freeze”, will represent the Netherlands at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which will take place at the Olympic Palace in Tbilisi (Georgia) on Saturday, December 13.

The young singer has won the Junior Songfestival 2025, the iconic Dutch national selection where the country’s representative for the children’s contest is chosen. Meadow, Coco & Tove, ICONIC, and LEVEL UP competed with their original entries in hopes of securing the ticket to Tbilisi, which ultimately went to Meadow.

After months of training and preparations, AVROTROS held the grand final of the Junior Songfestival 2025 at the RTM Stage Ahoy in Rotterdam, starting at 19:20 CEST, with Stefania Liberakakis and Matheu Hinzen as the hosts of the event.

Stay Tuned, winners of the Junior Songfestival 2024 and representatives of the Netherlands at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024, handed the trophy to the big winner of the 2025 competition.

With “Freeze”, Meadow triumphed by receiving the most votes from the professional jury, the kids’ panel, and the online vote. The song was composed by Daniel Van Der Molen, Elke Tiel, and Stas Swaczyna, produced by the authors themselves along with the AVRO Muziekuitgeverij music department and Blue Skies Publishing.

The entry will be the Netherlands’ 23rd participation in Junior Eurovision. Let’s remember that the Netherlands has taken part in Junior Eurovision without interruption since its very first edition in 2003.

In addition, we saw the 11 finalists perform “Spotlights”, the group song of Junior Songfestival 2025. True to tradition, once again, the Dutch competition featured its own official anthem. “Spotlights” joined the long list of original group entries that have marked the competition throughout its more than two decades of history.

In this edition, for the first time, the contestants had a second group song titled “We Got The Power”. This track was released as part of NPO Zapp’s anti-bullying campaign “Stip It” (Samen Tegen Iemand Pesten – Together Against Bullying), which is based on a project of the Belgian broadcaster VRT of the same name.
