ESC+Plus has talked to Dinah Nah, semifinalist of this year’s Swedish national selection for Eurovision. The singer will perform “One More Night” in the first semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2017 to take place on February 4th.
ESC+Plus: Hello! First of all, thank you so much for your time and congratulations on having been selected to take part in the Swedish national selection for Eurovision 2017.
What impelled you to take part in “Melodifestivalen 2017”?
Dinah Nah: When I participated in Melodifestivalen 2015 one of the first things I said when I was done is “I wanna do this again!” And this year I really felt motivated to do it and also I have a great song!:)
ESC+Plus: How did you feel when you knew you had qualified for the semi-final? Did you expect it?
Dinah Nah: I entered the competition with no expectations so I was beyond happy when I qualified for the semi-final!
ESC+Plus: What would it mean to you to represent Sweden?
Dinah Nah: So much that I can’t put it in to words, except the word honored!
ESC+Plus: How do you remember your participation in Melodifestivalen 2015?
Dinah Nah: I remember it with such happiness, a great deal of nerves and that magical feeling when you are on stage in front of million viewers:)
ESC+Plus: Can you tell us about your song? What is the story behind the lyrics?
Dinah Nah: The lyric is about a passionate meeting between to people. For example if two people meet on their vacation and fall in love, but they live in different parts of the world. They know their “love story” has an ending so that “one more night” is the night of bittersweet passion.
ESC+Plus: Why do you think your song has to be selected for Kiev? What are you strengths to reach the top in the competition?
Dinah Nah: For me Eurovision is a platform where we build bridges between people through love and music. A place where we are all equal. No politics, just love through music. And I believe my song has what it takes to be a part of that type of Eurovision. My goal as an artist is to spread love and happiness.
ESC+Plus: Have you thought about your performance for Melodifestivalen 2017?
Dinah Nah: Yes! And it’s gonna be FAB;)
ESC+Plus: Do you usually watch Eurovision? What is your favorite song in the history of the competition?
Dinah Nah: Celine Dion – Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi
ESC+Plus: If you could choose a Eurovision former participant to sing along with, who would it be?
Dinah Nah: Celine Dion;)
ESC+Plus: Finally, can you send a message for our readers and Eurovision fans?
Dinah Nah: Don’t be to hard on yourself, stay positive, and take care of yourself . Hope to see you in Kiev! Love Dinah Nah<3
