Junior Eurovision: Christina Magrin to fly the Maltese flag on home soil!

The final of MJESC has just taken place live from Valletta revealing us the artist that will represent the host nation at Junior Eurovision 2016.

The 13 years old singer Christina Magrin has been named the winner and will consequently represent Malta at this year’s edition following Destiny’s footsteps. She was also the winner of our prediction poll whose results you can check by clicking here.

The second place was for the group Fusion coached by Maria Abdilla, while the third prize was awarded to Lisa-Marie Tabone from La Voix Academy.

These are the artists that competed at today’s show:

The winner has been decided by a combination of jury (75%) and public televote (25%) with the last one being allocated as an equivalent fourth member of the jury. With respect to the Jury, each jury member awarded 12 points to his/her favourite song, 10 points to his/her second favourite song, 8 points to his/her third favourite song, 7 points to the next, and so on down to 1 point for his/her tenth favourite song. The same voting sequence applied to the televoting results.

During the show, the contenders performed original songs and covers, but the winning artist will perform, during the Junior Eurovision, a song chosen by PBS in consultation with the artist, which will not be the same song which was performed in the Maltese final.

The final of MJESC has been held in the Mediterranean Conference Centre where Junior Eurovision 2016 will take place on November 20.

Christina is an amazing singer. Well done Christina. I’m sure she will be making Malta proud again in November.
