Gaia: It means the world to me. It is a dream come true. I have dreamed of participating since I was a very little girl.

Gaia: The Junior Eurovision week will serve as a platform to showcase the culture of my country, get to know the other contestants, make new friends and have of course have fun. I expect the week to be so busy that time will fly!

E+: Have you watched the junior Eurovision Song Contest Before?

Gaia: Yes I did especially the 2010 transmission from Belarus. It is the last time that Malta took part.

E+: What are your favourite singers and songs in the history of the competition?

Gaia: Certainly a song to remember is Bzzz of Bizibeki from Georgia (2008). Last year’s winner Anastasiya Petryk’s song Nebo is still fresh on my mind.

E+: Have you already listened to other selected entries for the Junior Eurovision 2013?

Gaia: Yes, the ones that have already been selected. I like to learn the other songs too. Music is a good way to communicate, especially since all kids speak different languages.

E+: What do you think of them?

Gaia: There are some that I really like. I think all songs are very creative and it shows the talent of tomorrow’s authors and composers.

E+: How many hours a week do you spend preparing the contest?

Gaia: Really not much since my song is a ballad it does not require a large team effort. Therefore I only practice with my vocal coach a few hours every week.

E+: Will you carry any lucky charm during the performance?

Gaia: Yes I always do I have a special lucky charm that I carry with me everywhere.

E+: Tell us more about yourself, your favourite music style, favourite school subject, hobbies, and musical career.

Gaia: When I was just two and a half years old I recorded my first cover version of Barney, Me and my teddy. From then on I never stopped singing. Music has become an important part of my life. I love all kind of music, but I prefer ballad songs. My favourite subject at school is English language. I have several hobbies and I am very creative. I like crafts, make up, and much more.
