France is back to Junior Eurovision after 14 year-break

France Télévisions Director General, Delphine Ernotte, confirmed the news on Twitter!

Excitement is growing up as not only the UK – Wales (as an independent nation), but France will be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year!

Junior Eurovision 2018 in Minsk seems to be shaping up even more now that the Eurovision Song Contest is now over in Lisbon. During the past week, several meetings were held to take some relevant decisions on this year’s edition of the kids’ contest to be held in Belarus on November 25. One of them was surely bringing back one of the oldest participating countries at Eurovision: France, which after being absent for 14 years at the contest with no entries rather than “Si on voulait bien” by Thomas Pontier, will be performing for the second time in the history of Junior Eurovision.

Earlier this week, a press conference also take place at the Press Centre and although the Belarusian delegation was not present, Executive Supervisor Jon Ola Sand and TV Project Manager Gert Kark confirmed being working on full swing to make up the best show possible in November.

France managed to come 6th with 78 points at the 2004 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Lillehammer, Norway.
