Eurovision Eurovision 2015 Denmark

Denmark: More DMGP 2015 participants revealed?

At the beginning of the month, we reported that the Danish newspaper Her og Nu had revealed that Anne Gadegaard, who represented Denmark at Junior Eurovision 2003, was one of the 10 finalists in the national selection Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2015. Even though DR is yet to confirm anything, the newspaper has a history of being very accurate with their announcements. In fact, they managed to reveal 9 of the 10 acts in 2013 and 3 out of 10 in 2014, before DR announced them, and in the previous they have not revealed anyone, who didn’t end up participating in DMGP.

Today Her og Nu revealed a new set of names, that is set to take part in this year’s edition of DMGP, along with Anne Gadegaard. The show, which will be held on February 7th, will be hosted by Esben Bjerre and Jacob Riising.

The first name is the 20 year old Danish singer Babou. He came 3rd in the Danish edition of X Factor in 2011, and last year he had a big hit with the song “Supernova”, which was streamed more than 3 million times, and was certified gold. You can watch the music video for “Supernova” below.

The second name Her og Nu is mentioning is the 16 year old Julie Bjerre. She won the Danish talent show Mentor in 2013, and last year, she released her debut single “Zero”, that you can listen to below.

The last act Her og Nu has revealed is the the girl group World Of Girls, which consists of the 4 girls Nina, Ivy, Mette, and Camilla who are between 16 and 23 years old. The group was put together last year by René Dif, the male lead singer of the Danish group Aqua, and released their first single “Weekend Girl” late last year. You can listen to it below.

Besides those 3 acts, Her og Nu is also reporting that the songwriters Remee and ChiefOne have composed a song for the competition, and it will be sung by a group. Remee and ChiefOne have previous Eurovision experience, as they composed Soluna Samay’s “Should’ve Known Better, that represented Denmark in 2012 in Baku. You can rewatch that performance below.

Her og Nu is however not the only newspaper that has been throwing around names for DMGP 2015, as the Swedish newspaper Ulricehamns Tidning claims, that Swedish songwriter and former Melodifestivalen participant, Marcos Ubeda has written a song for the contest. He has previously composed 17 entries for Melodifestivalen including the Swedish Eurovision 2002 entry “Never Let It Go” sung by Afro-Dite, and the 1999 Eurovision winner “Take Me To Your Heaven” performed by Charlotte Nielsson. In this year’s DMGP, it is the young singer Cecilie Alexandra, who will perform his song, according to the newspaper. Cecilie Alexandra is pretty unknown to the Danish public, but that is due to change, if she will indeed stand on stage on February 7th. She has uploaded several covers on youtube, and you can listen to one of them below.

If those artists and composer will indeed participate in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2015, will be revealed this Monday, on January 26th, where all the songs will also be released in full lenght.

Are you excited for these names, and who else are you hoping will participate in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix this year?
