The Dutch television AVROTROS, has broadcasted this afternoon the grand final of the traditional ‘Junior Songfestival’ with the aim of selecting the next representative of the country in the 2021 Junior Eurovision.
The winner has turned out to be Ayana with the song “Mata sugu aō ne” and consequently will represent the Netherlands in Junior Eurovision 2021. A combination of the votes from the public via online voting, and kids (Jackie Stevie and Janae Blackson (of the duo Jackie & Janae), Robin de Haas (who could not compete due to having been infected with COVID-19 within days of the contest) and the representatives last year at the Junior Eurovision festival, the group UNITY) and adult panel (Jeangu Macrooy, Emma Heesters and Rolf Sanchez) decided the next Dutch representative for Junior Eurovision.
These have been the 4 finalists of the Junior Songfestival 2021:
- Ayana – “Mata sugu aō ne”
- Melody (Angelina, Ceder, Faye, Mirre and Soline) – “Niet Wat Vriende Doen”
- Priscilla – “Be Alright”
- SH!NE (Jade, Loïs and Lyova) – “A Million Little Things”
The group UNITY represented the Netherlands at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song ‘Best friends’. Finally they got a fourth position with 132 points. Will the Netherlands be able to improve this in 2021?
