Ukraine: Third semi-final of #Vidbir 2017 tonight!

Eurovision 2017 host country Ukraine will continue tonight looking for the song and the artist that will represent them at this year’s grand final in Kiev on May 13th. Ukrainian national selection is made-up of three semi-final rounds prior to the grand final and exactly the same as in 2016, it will a co-production between Ukrainian Public Broadcasting Services (UA:PBC) and STB, who is used to set up TV talent competitions in the country such as the X-Factor.

An intensive period of auditions took place throughout the past months in the six major cities of Ukraine which simultaneously saw a wildcard selection process running through, which was won by the group Kuznetsov and “Deep Shivers”, who unfortunately did not make it to the final last week.

Two previous heats selected the first four acts that will be competing at the grand final of #Vidbir 2017: TAYANNA, Salto Nazad, Illaria & Rozhden.

These are the remaining eight acts who will be fighting for two available spots in next week’s grand final:

  1. Payushchie Trusy – Singing Pants
  2. O.Torvald – Time
  3. Anastasia Prudius – Flow
  4. Vitaly Kozlovsky – I’m Your Light
  5. Kadnay – Freedom In My World
  6. Melovin – Wonder
  7. Green Grey – Future Is On
  8. Vivienna Mort – Iniy

As we informed a few lines above, two acts will qualify to the final on the 25th of February, being selected by the combination of the votes from the panel in the studio (Jamala, Andriy Danilko & Konstantin Meladze) and the Ukrainian audience on an equal ratio percentage (50/50). The winner in the grand final show will also be selected by following the same procedure.

The show will be starting at 18:00 CET live from Kiev’s Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute and will be presented by Ukrainian TV personality Sergey Prytula. You can watch it by tune into a live-stream transmission by clicking HERE and also on our multi-streaming platform.

Manel Navarro, who won a controversial Spanish national selection last Saturday, has been invited to perform at the show and will sing his Eurovision entry “Do It For Your Lover”.

About Adrián Valiente (Spain)

Adrián Valiente (Spain)
I love the Eurovision Song Contest not only because of its amazing production but it also gives me the chance to discover new music every year. I've been watching it since 2002, since then I became a huge follower, mostly because of the interest TVE put on it with Rosa from Spain. I've attended the contest several times in the last few years. I also attended the Junior Eurovision in Malta and Bulgaria where we lived an amazing experience thanks to all delegations and PBS/BNT organising team.
