Ukraine opens submissions for Eurovision 2018 national selection

UA:PBC has revealed the selection method that will choose the next Ukrainian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest. The broadcaster will select its 2018 hopeful from the selection show Vidbir, in cooperation with the commercial company STB.

This will be the third year in a row that STB will financially support the Ukrainian public broadcaster, as they already worked together in 2016 and 2017. As a result of this cooperation, Ukraine achieved its second victory at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016. Jamala got the right to represent Ukraine in Stockholm after winning Vidbir 2016 with her song “1944”. Last year, however, the rock band O.Torvald only managed to reach the 24th place.

There isn’t so much information about how to apply for the 2018 Ukrainian national selection but, as in previous years, auditions are expected to be held around the country. STB has published a telephone number for all interested artists and composers: 0-800-508-777.

Stay tuned!
