Sweden: Third semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2016 tonight!

Tonight, it is time for the third semifinal of the Swedish national selection Melodifestivalen 2016. As usual, 7 songs will be participating with two songs going straight to the final, while another two will go to the second chance round “Andra Chansen”.

The voting will consist of two phases. Firstly, the public will vote, and the two songs with the least amount of votes will be eliminated. Then, the public will vote once again for the five remaining songs deciding who will go through to the final, who will go to “Andra Chansen” and who will have to leave the competition. The show will be hosted by Gina Dirawi and Henrik Schyffert.

The 7 acts participating tonight are:

  1. SaRaha – Kizunguzungu
  2. Swingfly feat. Helena Guttara – You Carved Your Name
  3. SMILO – Weight of the World
  4. After Dark – Kom Ut Som En Stjärna
  5. Lisa Ajax – My Hearts Wants Me Dead
  6. Boris René – Put Your Love On Me
  7. Oscar Zia – Human 

Both Oscar Zia and After Dark have previous experience in Melodifestivalen. Oscar Zia participated in 2014 coming 8th in the final, while After Dark has participated twice, achieving a 3rd place in 2004 which is the most successful attempt. Swingfly is also back for a second time after he competed in 2011. This time, he will be singing along with Helena Guttara. The other four artists are debutants in Melodifestivalen.
