Christer Bjorkman has said about the 2017 line up:

“This is the strongest year ever for many different reasons not least for the width of the genre. There are so many hit songs and it is a shame that there can be only one winner”.

So, it seems that we are in for a great year of Melodifestivalen and in just under a month’s time we will have our first set of songs revealed for semi final 1 to take place in Göteborg, on February 4th. Sweden are once again favourites already to win the contest by many bookmakers, even before we know the songs, and now with Christer’s excitement added to the mix, we should prepare ourselves maybe to go back to Sweden next year. Who knows….

Check out our very own ESC+Plus reporter Alesia Michelle talking her way through the acts for this year’s participants for the Swedish national selection, Melodifestivalen.
