Sweden: Melodifestivalen 2017 submissions for composers open!

Composers and song writers can start submitting their songs for Melodifestivalen 2017! Between the 1st and the 19th of September at 17:59 CET, composers can upload their entries for Melodifestivalen 2017 at svt.se/melodifestivalen.

In both Regular Contest and Public Contest, the songs are submitted as audio files. SVT has posted the rules for composers and writers and they can start submitting their entries today. The deadline is Monday, September 19th at 17:59. Song writers who have never released any music should send their songs to the Public Contest. Song writers who have previously released their music send their songs to the Regular Contest. By clicking here you can find the rules in English.

According to the rules, at least one of the composers should be Swedish. Next year’s contest will have 28 competing songs, just as in 2016. A selection jury will pick 14 songs while the rest 14 will be picked by SVT and a team of experts who have been invited by SVT. In the 14 songs that will be picked by SVT, the winner of “Svensktoppen Nästa 2016″ will be included however not the song with which he/she won “Svensktoppen Nästa 2016″.
