Eurovision Eurovision 2016 Sweden

Sweden: First semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2016 takes place tonight!

Tonight, it is time for Sweden’s big national selection for Eurovision 2016 to begin with the first of six shows!

Only six acts will compete tonight after Anna Book’s shock disqualification on Thursday. From the six remaining songs, two will be going straight to the final, while other two will go to the second chance round “Andra Chansen”. The voting will consist of two phases. Firstly, the public will vote, and the song with the least amount of votes will be eliminated. Then, the public will vote once again for the five remaining songs to decide who will go through to the final, who will go to “Andra Chansen” and who will have to leave the competition. The show will be hosted by Gina Dirawi and Petra Mede.

Tonight’s line up:

  1. Samir & Viktor – Bada Nakna
  2. Pernilla Andersson – Mitt Guld
  3. Mimi Werner – Ain’t No Good
  4. Albin & Mattias – Rik
  5. Robin Bengtsson – Constellation Prize
  6. Ace Wilder – Don’t Worry

Even though Anna Book is not participating in the show anymore, she will still get to perform her entry Himmel För Två as an interval act.

You can already get a sneak peak of the show by watching 30 seconds snippets of the artists rehearsals here, or you can listen to 2.30 minutes of the studio versions of the songs here. Remember to vote in our poll for this semifinal:
