Among all the participants there are some familiar faces and a former Slovenian representative. The most famous artist of the whole line up is probably Maja Keuc, under the name of AMAYA, who achieved a 13th place at Eurovision 2011 with the song No One. Some others have already tried to represent Slovenia at Eurovision, to name a few Nika Zorjan, Raiven (runner-up in 2016), Omar Narber and Tim Kores Kori.

Although the songs and composers haven’t been revealed, we can confirm that Raay from Maraaya (Eurovision 2015) has produced three of the competing entries, the ones for Nika Zorjan, BQL and AlyaMusic.

EMA 2017 is coming in a renewed format as a semi-final stage has been reintroduced. Each semi-final will feature 8 competing entries with only 4 of them qualifying for the final; 2 qualifiers will be determined by a professional jury panel, while the other 2 will be up to the audience’s choice. At the national final, to take place on February 24, the winner of EMA will be decided by a 50/50 mix of public televote and regional jury panel.
