OGAE Second Chance Contest 2016 winner announced

It’s one of the highlights of the off-season; the OGAE Second Chance Contest.

“OGAE is an international organisation that was founded in 1984 in Savonlinna, Finland by Jari-Pekka Koikkalainen. The organisation consists of a network of 42 Eurovision Song Contest fan clubs across Europe and beyond, and is a non-governmental, non-political, and nonprofit company”.

OGAE offers a chance for fans from across the world to gather together in their own countries’ fan clubs to meet fellow Eurovision fans and take part in Eurovision related events, such as contests, meetings and concerts.ogae_logo

And the results are in … the winner of the OGAE second chance contest is …

Well done to OGAE Poland who have won the OGAE Second Chance Contest for the first time (their best previous result had been third place in 2008 when they were represented by Man Meadow with song Viva La Musica).  Margaret seemed such a fan favourite when it came to the national final season in 2016, so it is easy to see why and how “Cool Me Down” won.  The full results are as follows;

  1. Poland – 265 points
  2. Sweden – 244
  3. Israel – 190
  4. Italy – 157
  5. Norway – 137
  6. Estonia – 120
  7. Hungary (ROW) – 120
  8. Finland – 119
  9. Ukraine – 91
  10. Germany – 86
  11. Spain – 84
  12. Denmark – 68
  13. UK – 49
  14. Malta – 46
  15. Austria – 45
  16. Belgium – 22
  17. Latvia – 14
  18. Switzerland – 7
  19. Romania – 6
  20. Slovenia – 6
  21. Lithuania – 5
