O.Torvald to fly the Ukrainian colours on home ground!

The too much awaited decision for the Ukrainian fans this year has already been made. Ukrainian main public TV station NTKU together with private broadcaster STB just hold the final of their national selection process for Eurovision 2017 or as it’s known out there: Vidbir.

A professional panel made up of music industry experts, made up by Jamala, Andriy Danilko & Konstantin Meladze, alongside the Ukrainian audience with their calls and SMS’ have chosen Jamala’s successor in the contest. It’s O.Torvald with the song “Time” who will be defending the honor to represent Eurovision 2017 host nation at home.

The final result of Vidbir 2017 eventually came like this:

Six acts who qualified directly from the previous three semi-finals have fought tonight for the title to be representing the nation in May:

  1. Tayanna – I Love You
  2. Salto Nazad – O, mamo!
  3. Rozhden – Saturn
  4. Illaria – Thank you for my way
  5. O.Torvald – Time
  6. Melovin – Wonder

Guest artists at the show, also performing on stage were this year’s French entry Alma singing her song “Requiem” and Poland’s very own Kasia Mos with her “Flashlight”. The show took place live from Kiev’s Igor Sikorsky Polytechnic Institute and was presented by Ukrainian TV personality Sergey Prytula.

How happy are you with the Ukrainian representative at this year’s Eurovision grand final on May 13? Could they win again?

Stay tuned!

About Adrián Valiente (Spain)

Adrián Valiente (Spain)
I love the Eurovision Song Contest not only because of its amazing production but it also gives me the chance to discover new music every year. I've been watching it since 2002, since then I became a huge follower, mostly because of the interest TVE put on it with Rosa from Spain. I've attended the contest several times in the last few years. I also attended the Junior Eurovision in Malta and Bulgaria where we lived an amazing experience thanks to all delegations and PBS/BNT organising team.
