Meet the hosts of Junior Eurovision 2017

The European Broadcasting Union together with GPB has just announced who will be introducing the most popular annual song competition for kids in Europe

We are heading up for Junior Eurovision 2017 much closer now as the TV presenters for the competition have been revealed a few moments ago, it will be Helen Kalandadze together with JESC 2014 Georgian entrant Lizi Pop who will be having the task of welcoming the audience to this year’s competition next month on the 26th of November. This will be the third time somebody under 16 years will host Junior Eurovision, as Ioana Ivan was only 12 when she co-hosted the 2006 contest in Romania and Dima Borodin was also 12 when he co-hosted the 2009 competition from the Green Room in Kiev.

Helen Kalandadze has been involved in the music business for many years now. She entered the well-known TV show Star Academy back in 2009 and then she went into the world of broadcasting. In 2010, she had the chance to participate as a backing vocalist at the Eurovision Song Contest for Sopho Nizaradze‘s performance. In 2011 she graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration and Tourism Management at Ilia University. In 2013, Helen won the singing competition Your Face Sounds Familiar and that same year she established the Teen Club Studio alongside her friends Sopho Toroshelidze and Nina Tsitlauri. Helen was also the music producer of the singing contest Keep Your Light Shining and still continues making music and performing with her band.

Lizi Pop began singing at a very early age after she was born in Tbilisi in 2004. At the age of four, she began studying at the International School of Georgia and speaks fluent English. She represented Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song Happy Day.

In 2016 Lizi started studying at the French School of the Caucasus and aside from her native Georgian and fluent English, she also speaks well Russian and French and she has just started to learn Spanish!

She is also a YouTube vlogger and creates her own videos in addition to participating in TV shows and performing at concerts.
