A few months ago, Israel started the search of their Eurovision entrant through the reality singing show HaKokhav HaBa L’Eirovizion (“The Next Star for Eurovision”). The competition will come to an end on Thursday with the full Israeli act, artist and song, being selected by two voting rounds.
The candidate songs have just been presented at IBA’s radio program Reshet Gimel and you can listen to them below:
- Hovi Star – Made of stars (Doron Medalie)
- Nofar Salman – Made of stars (Doron Medalie)
- Ella Daniel – Somebody out there (David Maman, Phillip Hayun)
- Gil Hadash – Follow the sun (Stav Beger, Tom Gefen)
This year, the format is a bit different from the one used in 2015, where the winner was firstly chosen and then given a song, as all finalists will compete at the national final with the songs they would perform at Eurovision in case of a victory. The songs were chosen by an expert committee from more than 100 entries submitted. Two of the candidates will perform the same song, Made of Stars, with different arrangements.
The grand final of HaKokhav HaBa L’Eirovizion (“The Next Star for Eurovision”) will take place on March 3 live from Jerusalem.
