Eurovision Eurovision 2017 Albania

Lindita to sing in English, listen to Albanian studio version here

It won’t come as much surprise to many Eurovision fans, but Albanian representative Lindita Halimi will be singing her song in English on stage in Kyiv, Ukraine. Something which Albania has been doing since it last sang in Albanian in 2013.

Lindita, herself, has revealed in many interviews since her win in Festivali i Këngës 55 that her song, Botë, was originally written in English, and that an Albanian version was used purely for the audience of FIK, meaning that there is already an English version of the song. Perhaps we will be hearing it sooner rather than later. Lindita has said that she originally wrote it in English with a mind of spreading her message to the whole of the world.

The official studio version of her song, in Albanian, has been released and can be seen above. What do you think about it? Do you think the new English version will improve its message? She of course, helped write the English lyrics to Elhaida Dani’s 2015 entry “I’m Alive” for Vienna, so it’s evident she can write great English lyrics.

Stick with us whilst we wait for the new version of Albania’s song for Eurovision 2016. We will update you as soon as we have more information from Albania.
