Junior Eurovision: Georgian broadcaster releases competition to select Grigol’s song

A few days ago it was revealed that Grigol Kipshidze will represent Georgia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Today the Public Broadcaster has announced an open call for songs to select the composition that the 12-year old singer will perform on November 26.

All interested composers and songwriters can send their original songs from the 12th of September to the 25th of September to [email protected]. All compositions must follow the rules of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, no more than 3 minutes long, while the lyrics should be in the Georgian language.

Earlier this year, the Georgian broadcaster released an open call for artists aged between 9 and 14 years to find the right candidate to wave the national flag in Tbilisi. A number of singers faced a live audition from which a professional jury panel selected the X Factor contestant Grigol Kipshidze.

Although the applicants were initially asked to send their original songs, the Georgian broadcaster will finally select a song from an open competition. It’s interesting to know that Giga Kukhianidze has composed almost every Georgian entry in the history of Junior Eurovision, will we see a new composer for Georgia on home-ground?
