GPB has officially confirmed participation at Junior Eurovision 2016 opening submissions for a national selection.

The Georgian broadcaster will take part at this year’s Junior Eurovision to take place in Valletta (Malta). However, this year, GPB will use an external national selection procedure to select their entry for the contest.

All children aged 9-14 can send their songs, along with a photo and CV, until the 25th of September to one of the options below:

Georgia has been taking part at Junior Eurovision since 2007 achieving two victories, in 2008 and 2011. Last year, they were represented by “The Virus” and the song “Gabede”, but they only reached a 10th place. Interesting to remember that 9 of the 10 Georgian songs that have taken part at Junior Eurovision have been composed by Giga Kukhianidze, will he be again the composer for Georgia in 2016?

A total of 13 countries, out of the 18 expected ones, have officially confirmed participation at the upcoming edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest until the date. Poland is highly rumoured to take part in the competition after an absence of more than a decade, but an official confirmation hasn’t been made yet, while Slovenia and San Marino have already confirmed their withdrawal from the competition. Moreover, Cyprus is back to the competition after a year break.
