Junior Eurovision: Federica, Gaia & Friends in Nationwide Concert

With an influx of tourists somewhat predominant in the summer months, it comes as no surprise that events in the arts escalate during this period. One of such showcases is definitely The Għaxaq Music Festival, a three day spread of activities featuring some of the best vocal talent that the country is known to offer.

On the 7th August, La Voix Academy will be putting up a national concert supported by a 22- strong member live orchestra under the direction of Maestro Joseph Chircop with Moira Delia and Peter Carbonaro appointed comperes.

Whilst entrance is free with the exception of some seated areas, which will be available at €10 and €15, all donations made during the course of the evening will then be presented to the Malta Community Chest Fund, whose general aim is to aid philanthropic institutions, and more importantly individuals with different needs.

With a poster featuring the likes of Gaia Cauchi and Federica Falzon, Malta’s most predominant child performers, and winners of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as well as “Ti Lascio Una Canzone” respectively, there is a sense of intrigue to the general genre of the concert, one which the organisers are promising to be semi-classical.

The line-up of performers has been carefully thought of, with the young artists set to be joined by a host of guest vocalists including; Davinia, a two time participant in the “Malta Eurovision Song Contest”; Maxine Pace, recent winner of “Una Stella Sta Nascendo” on Sky Italia and Ludwig Galea; a tenor who represented Malta in the “Eurovision Song Contest” ten years ago.

Gillian Attard describes this concert as a scintillating experience with each step carefully planned to ensure the desired outcome. She is particularly thrilled to have acquired the services of Vincenzo Carni, the male tenor who helped Federica on her quest to win the RAI talent show “Ti Lascio Una Canzone”, and Marco Vito; who is a vocal coach on the aforementioned programme as well as The Voice of Italy.

The Għaxaq Music Festival will be taking place between the 6th and 8th August and will be featuring various genres, aiming to please more than one specific audience. We encourage you to attend all three events, especially the events on the latter two days whereas local artists will be taking to the stage.
