Junior Eurovision: Bulgaria launches national selection, final on June 11!

The host broadcaster of the last year’s Junior Eurovision has launched the selection procedure through which they will choose the Bulgarian representative for Malta.

This year, BNT will be the only broadcaster involved into the selection procedure. The Bulgarian national television will held a special show made up of several rounds with the grand final taking place on June 11.

All children aged 10-15, soloists or bands, are invited to submit their covers until the 10th of May at 16.00 (Local Time). The contenders must send two professional recordings, a song in Bulgarian and another one by choice. The Bulgarian selection procedure will be formed by the following stages:

  • May 11-16: An internal expert panel will listen to all the submissions received to select a total of 15 participants who will go through to the live stage.
  • June 1 and 8: The selected contenders will perform their songs live in front of a 5-person jury panel which will select 5 finalists.
  • June 11: The five finalists, previously trained, will compete in a final live show where the winner will be selected by a 50/50 combination of SMS voting and professional jury. In case of a tie, the Bulgarian representative would be chosen according to the televoting results.

The show will only reveal the Bulgarian representative as the song will be composed by the winner along with professional composers selected by BNT. The song presentation will take place on a TV show by the end of September.
